Volodymyr Ivasyuk: Suite-variations on the folk song "Dry Willow" for Chamber Orchestra

Volodymyr Ivasyuk is an iconic figure of late XX-century Ukrainian music in the genre of pop song. But few people know Ivasyuk as a talented academic composer. While studying at the Lviv Conservatory, student Volodymyr Ivasyuk was already famous:  the giant record "Volodymyr Ivasyuk's Songs Sung by Sophia Rotaru" and his author's collection record "My Song" were released in millions of copies; the TV films "Chervona Ruta" and "The Song is Always with Us" were made, which brought Ivasyuk enormous popularity.

Ulyana Horbachevska and The Dudaryk Choir: folk song "Floating duck on water"

A Lemko folk song that became widely known during the memorial events for the fallen participants of the Revolution of Dignity. It is included in the protocol of the Independence Day parade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was previously part of the repertoire of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.  In our concert, the singer Uliana Horbachevska and the Lviv National Academic Men's Choir "Dudaryk" under the direction of Dmytro Katsal present their reading of this requiem song.

DakhaBrakha: a wedding ceremony ritual called 'barn'

The wedding ritual ended with the "barn" ritual, when the whole village, with dancing and singing, jokes and kolomyikas (short humorous songs), took the young couple to the barn for their first wedding night. And who else can convey the spirit of wedding madness better than our DakhaBrakha. So the band kindly agreed to the proposal of the project's creative producer Yaryna Vynnytska and created a composition that completes the WEDDING block of the Ark Ukraine concert.

Хорея Козацька: Войська Запорозького воїн знаменитий

За основу цієї козацької пісні взято «Вѣрші на гербъ Войска Запорожского»  («Вірш про герб Війська Запорізького») з Літопису гадяцького полковника Григорія Граб'янки. А літопис той описує історію козацтва з часів його виникнення і до 1709 року. І у вірші сему описується перший герб вільнолюбного козацтва – козака-лицаря з мушкетом на плечі, який стоїть на сторожі рідної землі. Автором музики до цього поетичного тексту став український церковний діяч, вчений, письменник, композитор і богослов Дмитро Туптало (1651-1709).
